*The Top Tier*
(1. LOUIE: This show should not lose the #1 ranking just because it was not on this year. I re-watched the previous three seasons and they are good enough to retain the top spot)
2. EASTBOUND & DOWN: a fitting end to a near perfect show
3. BREAKING BAD: another show that stuck the landing with an intense, excellent conclusion
4. GAME OF THRONES: as the hype for this show builds it continues to meet expectations
5. BROADCHURCH: a hypnotic British thriller with remarkable scenery
6. PARKS AND RECREATION: The Year of Jamm
7. ENLIGHTENED: I came to this show late, but better late than never; some individual episodes are staggering
8. VEEP/HAPPY ENDINGS/IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: three way sitcom tie
9. DRUNK HISTORY: worked better as a show than anticipated
10. JUSTIFIED: enough of a a step up from Season 3 to stay in the Top Tier
11. PERSON OF INTEREST: continues to get stronger each season
12. THE BRIDGE: tense thriller focusing on border and personal conflict
*Honorable Mention*
-ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT: good, but not up to the original series standards
-HOUSE OF CARDS: a fun political soap
-TOP OF THE LAKE: a strange show filled with strange people in a strange land
-MARON: funny and thoughtful
-DOCTOR WHO: an inconsistent season with some great moments
-TREME: a fitting conclusion to this New Orleans tale
-PARENTHOOD: with character names like Zeek and Jabbar, how could it not make the list?
-THE AMERICANS: tense Cold War family drama
-DEREK: solid, but not top tier Gervais
-GIRLS: uneven but entertaining; the Patrick Wilson episode is a standout

***24/7: The Road To The Winter Classic: I try to focus on fictional shows for the most part but this HBO documentary is excellent and deserves a mention here
